For the convenience of parents, the RIVER SCHOOL offers daily before and after
school care while school is in session.
PARENT/TEACHER
COMMUNICATIONS
We encourage open, continual communications between parents and teachers throughout the
year. Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled in November and March with progress reports
issued four times annually. Private conferences can be scheduled at any time.
ADMISSION PROCEDURES
The first step in the admission procedure is an observation tour by prospective parents.
Appointments are scheduled with the Administrator. When applications have been submitted,
an appointment will be made for your child to visit our school. A prospective student
would later be invited to spend 1/2 day in our classes. We require previous school records
to be forwarded. Families will be formally notified when children have been accepted.
SCHOOL SCHEDULE
School begins the week after Labor Day and ends the second week of June. There are
mid-winter and spring vacations lasting approximately two weeks. Other holidays observed
include Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, Martin Luther King Day, Christmas, winter recess and
an extended Memorial Day weekend. The school day begins at 8:15 and ends at 3:15.
