AWARDS & GRANTS 2002- The River School received the “Best Practices in Teaching Award” from the United Nations Committee on Teaching. We received this award for our environmental studies curriculum. 2004- The River School received a grant from the Hudson Valley Educational Initiative for our integrated studies curriculum entitled Rocky & Land’s Hudson River Adventure. This project was made possible by Teaching the Hudson Valley, an educational initiative of the National Park Service and the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area in partnership with the Hudson River Valley Institute at Marist College and the Hudson River Estuary Program/New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
